Here the jungle and the animals are as they should be. Do not expect the tigers to pose for your cameras. The animals during day time simply flee when they see the humans. They are too inexperienced to see the humans.
But the night life is different.
Take the jeep ride thru the rough and only basic tracks, during night, ride thru the grass taller than roof top of your jeep, and one can see, tigers, gaurs, hyenas , sambar , dears and bears, and the in moment of fraction they shall vanish in the dense vegetation. there are over 50 animals who have this national park as their natural home.
Their sounds and tracks are the remains of these mesmerizing moments.
But so what. There is so much to see during day time, the birds.
There are number of birds, waiting for to show you their wealth and their songs.
They are everywhere; Malabar Pied Hornbills, Crested Eagles, Honey Buzzards, Pittas, and Peafowl, there are over 200 species of birds in this national park, and some of them you have never seen in your city and zoo.
As is said, this national park has never been themed to attract the tourists; the touch of civilization has been deliberately kept minimum. The forest dept staff is very friendly.
If you want the real Satpura experience the forest dept has some arrangement of accommodations inside the jungle, otherwise at near by Pachmarhi and Saket good hotels some run by Madhya Pradesh Tourism Dept are available.
