NAGARJUNA SAGAR SANCTUARY--SINGING BIRDS AND ROAMING TIGERS.

NAGARJUNA SAGAR SANCTUARY in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh can truly be a tourist’s place of a dream, amid singing birds and roaming tigers.
Nagarjuna Sagar sanctuary the India’s larges tiger reserve covering an area of 3600 sq kms with the terrain of rugged geography and winding gorges through the Mallamalai hills, and adjoining the large reservoir of water namely Nagarjunasagar Dam, on the river Krishna is a home of large number of species of birds , wild animals, and a large forest of deciduous vegetation with scrub and bamboo is an ideal shelter to a range of animals from the tiger and leopard at the top of the food chain, to deer, sloth bear, hyena, jungle cat, palm civet, bonnet macaque and pangolin.
In this unspoilt jungle, the tiger is truly nocturnal and the tourists must venture in the night in a jeep to see tiger in his natural form.

In this jungle only, naturalists shall be delighted to find the rare species of flora like Pterolobium indicum, Niebuhria apetala and Ziziphus xylopyrus.
Here the visitor shall find a great number of bird’s species, almost 150 species.
Andhra Pradesh tourism dept has excellent guest houses and cottages with eatery within the sanctuary.
The nearest town is Macherla (29 kms.)
The nearest rail head and air port is Hyderabad (150 kms.)
If you love to walk and trekking the jungles with moderate risk, visit the Nagarjuna Sagar sanctuary, it is a place of great interest.
