CHEMBRA PEAK- A ROMANCE WITH THE CLOUDS

Chembra Peak is for those who love light adventures in mountains, not climbing like Himalayan but not so easy mounting but not easy as well.
Chembra Peak is highest peak in Wayanad (altitude 2100m) hill ranges in the Western Ghats in the Indian states of Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
Nearest town is Meppady from where one has to take the tour on foot. A permit from forest dept has to be obtained to start the adventure. There are temporary camps on the hills.
Walking around the tea plantations, forests, and strong breeze clearing the beautiful mist only to be restored again, shall keep any man walking without tiredness.
During the tour a region comes where you can get some water, dripping slowly from the rocks, the flow of water is thin, but the taste of water is heavenly, sweet and cool.
A heart shaped lake en route to peak is a major attraction for the tourists, a place for the lovers to rest and enjoy the place.
The whole track to the peak is full of rich flora and fauna, plantations of tea and coffee here and there.
Really visit to Chembra Peak makes one to wish to settle down here permanently.
Local govt body has made enough arrangements for the hiring of camping and trekking tools, guides to promote the tourism.
